AS/11 - City tour: (Half day)
Visit the ancient Agora, ascent to mount Pagus once called the crown of Smyrna, visit the Alexander the Great's castle overlooking the city of Izmir - the pearl of the Aegean Sea. Then visit the Archaeological and Etnografical Museums. Visit the Bazaar.
AS/12 - Ephesus and Virgin Mary's House: (Full day with lunch)
Leave for Ephesus, visit the shrine of Virgin Mary where she is said to have spent her later days. Proceed to Ephesus and see the spectacular ruins, some of which have only recently been escavated. We will see the Odeon, the Bouleterion, the Fountains, the Temples, the Brothel, the Library, the Double Church and the Stadium. After lunch we will visit the Archaeological Museum, the Isa Bey Mosque and St. John's Basilica.
AS/13 - Pergamon: (Full day with lunch)
Drive to Pergamon, visit the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena, the Library, the Royal Palaces, the Temple of Trajan (the Great Theatre), the Temple of Dionysos, the Altar of Zeus and the view of the Red Basilica. After lunch we will visit the Archeological Museum and the ruins of theAsklepion (medical center of the ancient world). |
AS/14 - Perge - Aspendos - Antalya tour: (Full day)
Perge - An important city of ancient Pamphylia. Visit the Theatre noted for the marble relief work of its stage and its three sectioned memorial fountain. Then visit the city gate flanked by two lofty towers, a long colonnaded way that was once lined with shops and mosaic pavements, the Agora and buildings that once Houses the Baths and Gymnasium.
Aspendos - Dominating the site is the best preserved Theatre of antiquity seating 15.000. The Galleries, stage decorations and the acoustics all reflect the success of the architect. Close to the Theatre Basilica and Agora, the remains of an aqueduct, which was one of the largest in Anatolia.
Antalya - A tasty lunch in the restaurant by Koprucay river. The principal resort of the Mediterranean is the port city of Antalya which is an attractive setting with shady, palm lined boulevards and a picturesque old quarter called Kaleici which has narrow streets and wooden houses next to the old city walls. Take a walk through Kaleici visiting the Three Arched Hadrian Gate. Then on to the prize winning Archaeological Museum housing all the articals found in the region.
AS/15 - Side - Manavgat waterfalls - Kursunlu waterfalls: (Full day with lunch)
Kursunlu waterfalls - Travel eastwards stopping at Kursunlu waterfalls on the midway which is one of the untouched naturel spots in the region. Then on to Manavgat to cruise down on the river as far as the mouth of med. Laze on the sandy beach while the crew prepare you sizzling bbq.
Manavgat waterfalls - Just before going to side visit to the Manavgat waterfalls to cool of by.
Side - Then sightseeing throught the ruins in little pretty resort town, Side with it's Ampitheatre, Museum and so many other objects. Sit in street cafe or enjoy shopping or discover the ruins.
